SISTERS OF CHARITY FOUNDATION AWARDS $756,149

Canton, Ohio (June 9, 2025) The Board of Directors of the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton has announced $1,520,003 in grants for the first and second quarters of 2025.

Foundation President Marisa Rohn stated, “Our work is made possible by the many organizations that partner with our Foundation to lift people out of poverty. Not only do we fund, but we work alongside these nonprofits to assist with strategizing, providing for personnel and program needs, and building capacity through training, strategic planning, and more. Our Board of Directors believes in strategically devoting staff time and awarding funds to help organizations best meet the needs of our community.”

The following are the third and fourth quarter grants awarded:

Responsive Efforts: Our commitment to respond to specific or short-term community needs. Total: $607,700

Coleman Health Services , capital support for the Stark County Crisis Receiving Center

$375,000

EN-RICH-MENT , to support general operations

$50,000

Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio , to support the House2Home homeowner education program, over three years

$75,000

Margaret B. Shipley Child Health Clinic , to support for a pediatrician and implementaion of dictation software

$50,000

Rooted in Grance , to support the Mommy! Group progam

$7,700

Faith In Action of Western Stark County , to support transportation services for seniors in Western Stark County, over three years

$15,000

Orrville Area Boys and Girls Club , to support supplies for out-of-school time programming

$15,000

Pathway Caring for Children , to support trauma prevention program

$20,000

 

Strategic Collaborations: Our work alongside others to launch programs that build capacity and increase effectiveness in community services. The following were invited proposals to help build the capacity of local nonprofits. Total: $162,303

Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Ohio , to support capacity building through marketing plan
